Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday surpassed master blaster Sachin Tendulkar to become India’s leading six-hitter in ODIs. He achieved this on Sunday during the third match against New Zealand in Mohali.
Not only this, he became only the fifth Indian to complete 9000 runs in One Day Internationals and joined the league of cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar (18,426), Sourav Ganguly (11,363), Rahul Dravid (10889) and Mohammad Azharuddin (9378).
Apart from this, Dhoni is the third wicketkeeper to complete 9000 runs in ODIs and he achieved this milestone in 244 innings, which is the quickest by a wicketkeeper - the next two being Sangakkara (252) and Gilchrist (262).
Although Dhoni, still regarded as one of the best finishers in the game, has surpassed Tendulkar’s feat but he is still far behind Pakistan's swashbuckling all-rounder Shahid Afridi who has hit 351 sixes in 398 matches.
Let’s have a look at top ten Indian players who have hit maximum sixes.
